Adult Sunday School Leader

01.16.17 | Volunteer | Adults | At FBCW | by Jeremy Shirley

    Purpose

Adult Sunday School is the primary ministry of our church focusing on engaging all adults in discipleship. As part of our call to make disciples the focus of the ministry is on Reaching People for Christ, Teaching the Word, and Ministering to Others.

    Description

There is a constant need for more Sunday School group leaders. As long as there are disciples to be made, we’ll have a growing need for more groups which require more leaders.  As the leader of a class you’re responsible for keeping your group laser focused on Reaching, Teaching, and Ministering.  You’ll handle the majority of teaching duties and work with the class as a whole to accomplish its mission.

    Who am I serving?

There are needs for new groups of all ages and life stages. Wentzville is a growing community and with that comes significant needs for more people to be reached.  If you want to really focus on an area of greatest need, consider if you might be someone that could lead a group for Millennials, adults in their 20’s and early 30’s.

    Gifts/Skills Needed

You must be someone that genuinely wants to see the Great Commission fulfilled; disciples made. Prior teaching skills are a plus but we could also help you learn to teach.  Leadership skills are a plus, but experience leading a Sunday School group is not necessary.  Through leadership training we can help you with those things.  For Co-ed classes this is an opportunity for men and for women’s classes the opportunity exists for our women to lead.

    Commitment/Time Needed

Sunday School meets weekly throughout the year. To serve as a leader, you’d need to make an ongoing commitment to serve in this role throughout the year.  Additional requirements are monthly leader meetings and other special training to assist you in becoming the best leader you can be.

    To Get Involved

If you’re already engaged in Sunday School, the best place to start is by talking with your current Sunday School leader. If you’re not engaged in Sunday School or just have more questions, please contact Jeremy Shirley at 636-327-8696 or
