About Preschool

Objectives

The Solid Rock Preschool is a ministry designed to meet mental, physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of preschoolers as an expression of Christ's love.

1. To enable every child to grow in understanding and love for themselves, their families, and others in their world.
2. To help each child grow in awareness that God loves them and that Jesus is a special friend.
3. To develop a child's problem-solving and communication skills through age-appropriate activities.
4. To provide each child with opportunities to enjoy creative expression in music, art, and play.

To help us accomplish our objectives, the entire school meets on a daily basis for Chapel. During Chapel, we teach the following:

1. The Pledge of Allegiance
2. Patriotic Songs (God Bless America, America the Beautiful)
3. Counting (in English, French and/or Spanish)
4. Fun/Silly songs
5. Bible Verses (for example; John 3:16, Ephesians 6:1)
6. Bible Stories or a story with a moral or value

Your child will hear some of the following stories: Noah's Ark, How God created the World, Balaam and his donkey, the birth of Jesus, Daniel and the Lion's Den, etc. We will also teach concepts from the Bible that teach a moral or value, such as obeying your parents and why that is important, why it's not good to tell lies, or why it's important to not hit our friends. All of these types of concepts are important for preschoolers to learn, and will be included throughout the year.

Facility & Staffing

We are a Christian-based preschool/child care facility with a license-exempt status with the State of Missouri. We have three annual inspections: Health and Sanitation, State Fire Marshal, and Department of Health/Bureau of Child Care. All of our staff undergo state-mandatory background checks and are CPR trained. The ratios for our classes are as follows:

Classroom Ratios

*A class designed for children whose parents have chosen not to send their child to Kindergarten due to a late birthday or for preschoolers who miss the cut-off date by 1-3 months. Call or e-mail for more information.

Class Schedules

The Solid Rock Preschool is open Monday – Thursday from 9:00 – 2:00.

We offer 1, 2, 3, and 4 day options.

Tuition is based upon the number of days your child attends. Please call for current rates.

There is an annual, non-refundable registration fee of $200 payable when your child is enrolled. $50.00 is applied to your last month's tuition. If you choose to drop out before the date listed in the Parent's Handbook, the $50.00 tuition will be refunded to you.

1's and 2's Schedule

• 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch
• 12:30 – 2:00 Rest Time

3's, 4's, and 5's

• 9:00 – 9:20 Welcome and Free Play
• 9:20 – 9:40 Chapel
• 9:40 – 10:20 Snack and Circle Time
• 10:20 – 11:30 Learning Centers
• 11:30 – 12:00 Recess
• 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch
• 12:30 – 1:00 Music
• 1:00 – 1:45 Various Learning Activities—Library Time, Science, Show and Tell
• 1:45 – 2:00 Prepare for Dismissal
