Transition Prayer Guide

    Pray For The Church

    1. Pray for patience and trust in the Lord during the waiting.

    2. Pray for unity around God’s Word, The Great Commission, and FBCW’s commitment to Love God and Love People.

    3. Pray that FBCW would continue to place high priority on Biblical teaching and preaching.

    4. Pray that FBCW would be united around our future Lead Pastor and follow him as he follows Christ.

    5. Pray for the other pastors and staff by name.

    6. Pray that FBCW would grow, the Word would increase, and we will continue to make disciples during the transition.

    Pray For Our Next Lead Pastor

    1. Pray that God would help him grow in relationship and closeness to Christ.

    2. Pray that God would increase his passion for preaching the Word of God.

    3. Pray for the future pastor’s family – wife, children, unity in transition.

    4. Pray for vision and preparation to lead FBCW to fulfill the Great Commission in our city and beyond.

    5. Pray that God would give him a love for our city and the world.

    6. Pray that God would give him wisdom to lead the church.

    7. Pray that God would equip him to meet the needs of our church.

    8. Pray that God would begin or continue to work in his heart to be receptive to God’s call on his life to be our pastor.

    Pray For The Leadership Team/Pastor Search & Selection Team

    1. Pray for God to guide the Leadership Team to use wisdom and discernment in any decisions made during the transitional period.

    2. Pray that the Spirit of God would fill us with insight to know and discern God’s will for our next Lead Pastor.

    3. Pray for patience and trust in the Lord throughout the process.

    4. Pray for unity and humility with each other and the church.

    5. Pray for the mind of Christ to be pursued.

    6. Pray for discipline and perseverance.

    7. Pray that they would get to know the Great Shepherd better as they seek to identify the next shepherd of our local church.

    8. Pray for joy and kingdom perspective throughout the search.

    9. Pray for team members and their families by name as they experience spiritual warfare.
